Got Some Weight Loss New Year's Resolutions and Wondering How You Keep Your Commitment To Yourself?
Each year people resolve to get more healthy. These normally entail things like "I want to lose a lot of weight" or "I want to eat really healthy from now on." Wanting to get as healthy as you possibly can is admirable. The fact is that there are hardly any folks that don't need to improve their health in some way. At the same time, going overboard with New Year's Resolutions is very typical. Unfortunately, most of the people lose their enthusiasm by February or March because they try to undertake too much too quickly.
So how can someone get out there and get healthy without trying to do too much too soon? There can be a couple of different techniques in play here. The first says to go bit by bit and make small goals for yourself. The next says that it is much better to plan out the long term with shorter jaunts along the way. Both strategies are excellent if you want to get healthy and accomplish the things you resolve. If you take one thing on "big picture" fashion, it is easy to break that down into smaller more easily achieved goals. Here are some good examples.
If you'd like to lose 50lbs by 2012 that may be broken down into a somewhat more than four pounds per month or one pound per week. That's correct: just a little bit more than one pound weekly. That's certainly achievable! Simply cutting the soft drinks out of your diet is enough to help you get there. Obviously staying away from soda alone isn't really enough to get the job done but it can help you gather steam when you are first starting and while you learn how to keep off the pounds that you drop every week.
If animal rights are usually something that concern you and you would like to become a vegan, don't try to get there all at once. It will harm your health to do this and the withdrawals the body will go through will make the change much harder and you won't be able to stick to your new commitment. Start out by simply eliminating one sort of meat. Then, after a little while, drop yet another form of meat. You can look into the dairy after you have gave up on eating meat for a while. After you've worked through a dairy dependancy, you may start working on eliminating all of the smaller things that have animal based ingredients (jello, for example, contains animal byproducts). When you do this you will give yourself more time to learn what to look for on ingredients labels and what new foods you need to eat to make up for the foods that you miss eating.
There are lots of methods for getting healthy during the year. New Year's resolutions are a great way to discover enthusiasm in the beginning. Small goals that get met over the months will help you stay motivated past the time of year you usually give up the resolutions.

for a skinny ectomorph who has trouble putting on weight-how many reps/sets per exercise?
2 questions:
1)is 2 sets of 6-8 reps ok?
2)advance the next set of weights eg Set1- 45lb Set 2- 50lb?
I would suggest 3 sets of 8 and if your not struggling to get the last set completed your not doing enough weight... but it really isn't about your routine as much as it is about your diet... ectomorphs need to force more food down their throats.
