Weight Loss
In today’s fast paced life and busy schedules, it has become difficult to take time out for extra activities including exercises which leads to excess body weight. The simple reason why people become overweight is-“If you take in more calories than are required by the body on a daily basis you eventually gain weight.” The other possible factors responsible for being overweight over which you have no control are some illness, certain medication, genetics, environmental factors, psychological issues, physical inactivity due to injury and eating disorders.
The good news is whatever be the factor over which you have control or not, monitoring calorie intake and increasing activity levels is an effective way for almost anyone to reach and maintain a healthier weight.
Here are simple instructions you can follow to loose extra weight:
1. If you need to loose a lot of weight, set small and realistic goals. For example, try to loose 2.5kg first, relax a bit and then go for 2.5kg more.
2. Start a regular exercise program and stick with it.
3. Drinking a lot of water is the most effective way of losing weight.
4. You may do extra exercise in addition to your regular exercise program such as take the stairs instead of elevator.
5. Eat high fibre foods such as vegetable salads and whole grain pastas, and have healthy fat from nuts and olive oil.
6. You should choose food that you like. You may learn to prepare healthy, low calorie food that taste good from new recipe cook books. Eating well doesn’t mean eating dull.
7. Eat smaller, more frequent meals. This way, your body starts to increase its metabolism so that calories are burned faster. Also mini-meals can prevent overeating.
8. You must plan in advance. Keep the refrigerator stocked with healthy food and you will be less likely to run out for high calorie, high fat junk food.
9. Determine your favourite snack time and be sure to have plenty of healthy options available when you get hungry.
10. You can keep a food diary. This will help you to pinpoint where you can improve your diet.
11. Wake up closer to sunrise or at least two hours earlier than your regular time and sleep at a fixed time, for, that’s the secret of a clear and ageless skin too.
12. Full cream milk includes more calories and less calcium, so start taking skimmed milk
Losing weight is actually quite simple- eat less, exercise more. But we are resistant to that message. Mainly because we look for a quick fix- an easy and painless way to drop kilograms. But quick fix doesn’t work. It needs time and patience. You need to consider portion control, food choice, exercise, how much exercise, what kind of exercise etc. but worrying about all the specifics will do you a little good. What you want to do is loose that extra weight. There are many, many ways to do that. You need to choose the diet and exercise plan that suits you.

Of course! It's not the weight that matters as much; its the endurance. If you increase the time every day, even if its a one minute interval, it will be better than doing a 15kg for 5 minutes every day! Here is a schedule if you would like to use:
Day 1- 2 minutes
Day 2- 4 minutes
Day 3- 6 minutes
Day 4- 8 minutes
Day 5- 10 minutes
Day 6- 12 minutes
Day 7- 14 minutes
Day 8- 16 minutes
Day 9- 18 minutes
Day 10- 20 minutes
and so on...
Once you start getting really tired, keep at that pace! But don't worry, you can give yourself a break every once in a while!
