What do you think about this sick Victorian Era practice?
"Figging is the practice of inserting a piece of ginger root into the [backdoor]. The ginger, skinned and often carved into the shape of a finger, causes an intense burning sensation and discomfort to the subject. If the subject tightens, the sensation becomes more intense. For this reason it is rumored to have been done to recalcitrant wives in the Victorian age to prevent them from clenching during a spanking."
Recalcitrant adj: Marked by stubborn resistance to and defiance of authority or guidance. See unruly.
This was disciplinary spanking not sexual spanking so it wasn't consensual (obviously).
I'm sure there were many sick practises performed in the Victorian Era. Fortunately we are no longer bound by superstition and harshness.

the notion that Prince Albert invented the piercing that shares his name in order to tame the appearance of his large penis in tight trousers—are widely circulated as urban legend. No historical proof of their veracity has been located independent of Malloy's assertions.
I have long believed it was a myth. As for Queen Victoria - she moved unclothed statues away from her sight as they offended her.
