my dog does not poop or pee inside her exercise pen, but she does it on the carpet?
or in the park.
she is young adult yorkie. I adopted her 10 days ago. I bought her a large exercise pen and when I am not home she is in there. she is only 5.5 lbs. I have to keep her in the pen when I can't watch her closely. she pees and poops on the carpet sometimes, but not inside the pen at all.
Also, I take her for walks 2 or 3 times a day and she poops and pees twice in the park.
should I buy her the grass potty for dogs and keep it inside her pen? do dogs like that? it is nylon but looks like grass. what is the the reason she likes to poop or pee on the carpet?
she was in the middle of peeing on the carpet today and I picked her up and put her in the bathtub, she stopped peeing and now 2 hrs passed and she is till holding it.. why?
nononno! not unless you want to teach the dog to poop & pee in the house and she already knows how to do that LOL! Do not put her in the tub, take her outside. She does because she is not house trained yet, it can take a couple weeks to a couple months.
When the dog is out of the ex pen, she should have a responsible person with their eyes on her the entire time. That way, if you see she is starting to go, you can get her right outside, let her go there then praise & reward her. You can't simply come home and let an untrained dog loose in the house while you do stuff. The best way is to put the dog in a leash and attach that leash to a person as it forces them to watch the dog. When you have to do something where you can't watch the dog, put it back in the ex pen and then take it outside again before you let it out. It is labor intensive, but it works faster.
